I’ve been playing historical detective this week, squinting at old brickwork, zooming in on horse-drawn wagons, and matching fonts like a turn-of-the-century CSI — and guess what?
This postcard scene is 100% Seminole, Oklahoma, straight from the roaring days of the 1920s oil boom! 🛢️💥
✨ Thanks to the keen eyes and stories shared in the Forgotten Oklahoma group, I went from “Could this be Seminole, NE?” to “Yep, this muddy, bustling, wagon-draggin’ downtown is definitely Seminole, OK!”
💡 Just look at these details:
“ARMSTRONG & DAY DRUG STORE” painted on the wall? Check.
“Palace Clothiers,” Florsheim Shoes, and that proud little Coca-Cola sign? All match confirmed historic businesses in Seminole.
One eagle-eyed group member even pointed out this building as the former 210 E. Broadway, now being lovingly revived (check out this cool article).
